This Sunday is Education Sunday, which is a national day of prayer and celebration for all those involved in the world of Catholic education, including teachers, lecturers, governors, pupils and students

Sometimes it's difficult to do the right thing - Even Jesus, as a human being had difficulties accepting his mission.  In the end he gave the ultimate fiat 
"Not my will, but thy will be done."

Let us pray today that God’s grace in us will do what it did for Mary!

The week we return to the theme of the Holy Spirit helping us.
This is the Holy Spirit’s role and we should call upon Him for guidance and direction. 

Let us pray for the respect and protection of human life in all its stages, from conception to natural death, recognising it as a gift from God.

This weeks Gospel Reading is filled with hope and should be referred to whenever we are in one of those “tough spots” that plague all of us at various times.

The Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday

The Gospel this weekend reminds us that like Jesus, we too need God’s help, support, guidance and protection.  
We also remember this weekend Fr Dave Melly, who supported and guided the community here at Our Lady's for over 20 years.

September is the month of Our Lady of Sorrows. Mary’s supreme sorrow was witnessing the crucifixion of her Divine Son as she stood at the foot of the Cross. We honour Mary, the Mother of our Saviour and our Mother.

This week's gospel talks about Peter being the rock on which the church is built.  Let us pray this week for Pope Leo, who is tasked with leading the church as St Peter once did.

Let us pray that in large cities often marked by anonymity and loneliness, we find new ways to proclaim the Gospel, discovering creative paths to build community, (especially with young people!!)

The readings for today use the analogy of farming and sowing seed to talk about how the teachings of God and Jesus, His Son, sometimes produce abundantly; but at other times do not.

Gods’ most unlikely heroes; St Peter and St Paul, individually carried on the mission and ministry of Jesus by proclaiming the gospel through their words and actions as missionary disciples in the early church.

The Holy Father's Prayer intention - 
"Let us pray that sports be an instrument of peace, encounter, and dialogue among cultures and nations, and that they promote values such as respect, solidarity, and personal growth."

This week we celebrate the Holy Trinity which offers us a model of sharing, belonging and community.  We started this week with our Parish Picnic!!! (mainly in the shade!)
